As part of the University of Oxford, OxFabs has been developing high quality monoclonal antibodies from challenging antigens for over 30 years and is now delighted to be offering this service commercially. We produce optimally performing antibodies against well-chosen targets. OxFabs will produce monoclonal antibodies to order for customers and characterise them according to the customer's needs or budget. It is the refined fusion techniques and the subsequent approach to full characterisation that form the technological basis and success of the OxFabs reagents. Many of the antibodies produced by the OxFabs team have enjoyed huge commercial success and the citations in peer-reviewed journals run into thousands.
Your research cannot afford to have inferior reagents. Poor quality antibodies will cost heavily in flawed experimentation. Genuine collaboration at every step - reporting and discussing results ensures final quality and engenders confidence: - "Many very demanding researchers have found the OxFabs team the best to work with"
Custom Monoclonal Antibody Projects
OxFabs offers custom monoclonal antibody development. Starting from the gene name only we can provide a full service, to produce a specific monoclonal antibody. Steps in the production of a new monoclonal antibody include:
Antibody request sent to OxFabs using online enquiry form (enquiries@oxfabs.com)
Once an initial enquiry has been received a meeting will be set up with the customer to gather, more detailed information. A wide range of details need to be discussed including the type of immunogen to use, the method in which the antibody will be used and the appropriate screening method.
A detailed report describing the best way to approach the project, together will a breakdown of the price structure.
Exact antigen identification and preparation
Immunisation with antigen produced by OxFabs or provided by the customer
Fusion performed and screened by ELISA. Positive supernatants can be sent to requestor for further testing.
Further characterisation of positive supernatants by immunohistochemisty, western blotting and against transfected cells.
Positive supernatants sent to requestor for evaluation
The service can be customised to fit in with the needs of the requestor. Typically, to develop a specific monoclonal antibody from beginning to end, it will take five months. More detailed information on the production of a monoclonal antibody is given on subsequent pages.
